The Vitamin N

An excellent article on nature and your health.

Tiffany:

“These were taken at the ‘North Cabarrus Park” in Concord, North Carolina where I did most of my walking while I was there because it was walking distance from my sister’s house. It is gorgeous!”

Brandy:
I just wanted to share a picture of my favorite trail in my neck of the woods. Pictured is my son Nolan and Black Lab Austin.”

From Anita, a volunteer at HELP Animal Shelter:

“hiking with the dogs who are available for adoption!
The wooded scene is at the wkbv property. Looks like a door way.
Hyde is playing soccer and loves the kiddie pool.
Grace riding in my car, very relaxed, after a day at big lots for a fund raiser.”

At the River Rats baseball game last night (they won 13-1!), Annelise brought Cope’s corn snakes for the baseball fans.  Don’t worry, they’re not poisonous.

As a part of our fitness initiative, Come Take a Walk allows you the opportunity to explore our flagship park. A leader will guide you in stretching and walking and each participant will receive a pedometer to continue their efforts once the program concludes. The CDC estimates that a difference of 100 calories of exercise per person per day- a 20 minute walk- could eliminate the nation’s obesity epidemic! Since July is National Parks and Recreation Month, we’ll also have special giveaways.”

CEC Staff beat G101.3 in a challenge to 500. Keep watching to see what we’ll have the G101.3 do!

Ashley goes birding every morning to collect information for a biology study.  She walks all over Cope and other properties.

Go bird watching yourself! Grab a book or a friend and start recording what birds you see!

Take a walk to the Wayne County Fair off of Salisbury Road, check out the farm animals and ride some rides!
